Meharry Medical College begins construction of new hall Alumni

Nashville, Tennessee (PRWEB) November 22, 2011

Meharry Medical College recently opened a new Alumni Hall. Located behind the Salt Wagon Cafe near the center of campus, the building of 5,600 square meters, will be used for seminars, receptions and community meetings. Included a meeting space and will seat 300-350 people.

President and CEO Dr. Wayne J. Riley said the center is a place they can call their alumni Meharrys,. A place to meet and engage in dialogue to change the world

The construction of the new Alumni Hall

represents a significant milestone in the history of Meharry Medical College, said Riley. Alumni Hall meets a need we had for a time appropriate for a meeting and social place in our campus.

The building was made possible in part by a grant from Aramark. That represents an investment of $ 1.6 million Meharrys on campus, and is one of three construction projects under way at Meharry.


Construction began in October

in the new Delta Dental of Tennessee Center for Simulation. It is made possible by a donation of 770,000 dollars from Delta Dental. Last year, began the renovation of historic Meharry Lyttle Hall, which had been closed since 1992.
