Pioneer Health Calls for doctors and patients in the Bill of Rights Day National Doctors

(PRWEB) March 30, 2012

M. Elson Haas, MD, a pioneer of integrative medicine and the Founding Director / Medical Preventive Medicine Center of Marin since 1984, is taking his message to the leaders of the health of this nation Doctors Day National. Dr. Haas calls on President and Mrs. Obama, General Health, Vice Adm. Regina M. Benjamin, MD, Secretary of Health and Human Services, Kathleen Sebelius, to join him in taking the first doctors Nations Charter rights.

a bill of rights of doctors, you ask? That’s right, said Haas. Doctors also have rights, as well as patients need to be heard and protected, patients need to understand the doctors and their practices to generate the best doctor / patient and better health outcomes.

over 40 years as a practicing physician, author and teacher, Dr. Haas has made patient care that your top priority, and has been a strong advocate of patient rights for decades. But somehow I felt that there was still something missing in the equation of health, an imbalance in the doctor / patient.

When I realized that the health of the doctor / patient must involve mutual respect and balance, I see a missing piece of the puzzle, said Haas. The lack of recognition of the rights of health providers, as well as for patients is causing many problems in our health system. It explains many of the chronic problems with exhaustion and lack of physician communication. In general, Haas has a vision of new health care and believes that there are two important keys to improve outcomes and reduce costs:
Patients
1.? Need to take more responsibility for their health and not leave the doctor’s responsibility to fix when they disintegrate. Medicine is crucial to us all.
Doctors
2.? Educators should also be going back to the original Latin twelve (ie, teaching), a true vocation doctors. Then this important physician / patient becomes a true collaboration with the goal being optimal health.

Haas has been studying the current U.S. healthcare system for years, and he has a vision for your future, which includes the Bill of Rights Physicians among many elements.

From National Medical

Day is celebrated every March 30 (first proclaimed by President George Bush in 1991), Haas decided it would be appropriate to ask the nations health leadersincluding President and Mrs. Obamato officially adopted a project Bill of Rights Physicians. Haas has initiated contacts with the offices of President, Mrs. Obama and Dr. Benjamin Sebielius Secretary formally inviting them to join him in this effort. Is actively running a blog on both sites (and http://www.haashealthonline.com http://www.pmcmarin.com), and Facebook, encouraging other Americans to support this effort and share their thoughts in this public forum.

Besides the Declaration of Rights Physicians, Haas has a bill of rights important to the patient that came in his next book, Staying Healthy with ARA Medicine: Back to bring health care Health. My attention has focused patient care and medical school in Ann Arbor, Michigan, back in early 1970. However, I also believe that there must be collaboration and mutual respect between doctor and patient to achieve health outcomes for each person ideal.

Dr. Haas

vision of health care is really needed at this time, exemplified by the almost unique, integrative medicine, says his business partner, Ernie Hubbard. Dr. Haas written about the practice of new health centers is very inspiring.

The Bill of Rights

doctors emerged after many years of clinical experience daily with patients and with colleagues from health colleagues, said Haas. Some points of Dr. Haas Bill of Rights states that:

Doctors

1.?? And these practices have the right to establish criteria, guidelines and limits for the acceptance and work with their patients.

Doctors

2.? Has the right to ask patients the information they need to take care of them, and request that patients complete the forms honestly.

Doctors

3.? Has the right to select the type of treatment they believe in and to their patients to decide what treatment they want to accept, in mutual cooperation.

Doctors

4.? Have the right to establish a model of practice, choose, and decide whether it is healthy in the real service and is compatible with your desires and beliefs about their work.

These are also some of the patients of Dr. Haas Bill of Rights:

Patients Bill of Rights

1.? I have the right of final decision on what is done to my body.

2.?? I have the right to request and receive the best possible information and support for my condition (including my own research).

3.? I have a right to know the benefits and risks of any procedure or test that I requested to conduct, support and hope to make the right decisions.

4.? I have the right to be informed about the costs of my treatment, tests or procedures, and what is covered or not covered by my insurance plan.

5.? I have the right to be treated with respect by my doctors and staff at its offices and hospitals, and I respected my needs.

About the National Day of Physicians

Doctor Day was first observed in the U.S. on March 30, 1933 in Winder, Georgia, when Eudora Brown Almond, wife of Dr. Charles B. Almond, decided to set aside a day to honor physicians. The first Doctor’s Day was included sending greeting cards to physicians and placing flowers on the graves of dead doctors. The red carnation has become the flower of the Day Doctor recognized.

National Day of

doctor is commonly celebrated as a day to recognize the contributions of physicians in individual lives and communities.
