urachus, an organization that promotes health care quality through accreditation, education and measurement, has announced that Justine Handelman, vice president of legislative and regulatory policy of the Blue Cross and Blue Shield Association, has joined the Board of Directors urachus. Stephen Handelman Gammarinos serve the remaining term, which expires in April 2013.

Handelman oversees the development of federal policy and regulatory framework for BCBSA, working in a wide range of issues important to federal Blue Cross and Blue Shield plans, including health reform, health information technology, government programs (Medicare, Medicaid, SCHIP) and delivery system reform.
